Frequently Asked Questions

Do you ship internationally?
We only ship to the 48 contiguous states.  Sales tax is applied to orders shipped in California.

Do you have a local company you can recommend?
We are a small, local company in Berkeley, CA.  Our bi-folds are a very unique and niche product.  As such, there is a very small market for them.  The product itself is not scale-able.  We don’t have any partner companies or anyone we can recommend.  However, we strongly advise finding an experienced glazier willing to work with our product prior to ordering.

Can I install this myself?
Our enclosures are difficult even for experienced shower installers.  However, most problems arise from improper measurements.  Measurements off by under an 1/8″ of an inch can be an expensive reorder.  If a bowed or sloped wall is overlooked or clearances around fixtures aren’t factored in etc… it’s on you.  We do not accept returns and we do not cover the cost of remakes due to wrong measurements or incomplete information.

Our complimentary 15 minute phone consultation (with order) is just enough time to answer questions for someone who is highly experienced, but installing our product for the first time.  We simply don’t have the manpower to provide one on one training’s for do-it-yourselfers and handyfolk.  It’s also not the business we’re in.  If you’re going to spend the money to buy this enclosure, spend the money to make sure it’s done right.

What is your return policy?
All glass sales are final.  We will accept returns on most hardware within 60 days, but charge a 20% restocking fee.  We do not accept returns on the header/track.  The customer pays to ship the returned items to us.  All shipping and crating is non-refundable.  Drawings are non-refundable.  We’re a small company, not Macy’s.  Please work with an experienced professional.

How much does it cost?
Our smallest, simplest enclosures start at over 1k for hardware only.  This does not include shipping, taxes (if applicable) and fabrication drawings.  You will still need to hire a contractor and pay for the glass.

Why are your enclosures so expensive?
Our bi-folds are a very unique and niche product.  As such, there is a very small market for them.  The product itself is not scale-able.  Each shower is custom.  There are no stock doors.  Think of the difference between picking up a shirt at a big box store versus having a seamstress/tailor take your measurements and custom make one for you.  If we made these in stock sizes it would fit like a thrift store suit, and probably leak.

How do you keep water from leaking if there’s no shower curb?
We don’t.  Consult with your contractor.  Our doors won’t leak when the area is properly prepared.  We use vinyl that snaps on the bottom of the door panels to direct the water inward.  The doors are designed with vinyl seals in between the door panels.  If the shower pan, tub or tile doesn’t slope properly, you may get some leaking.  Issues with the slope are usually due to natural shifting or improper construction.  These concerns should be addressed with your contractor ahead of time.  If it’s a remodel or new construction, make sure a curbless shower is planned for.  Special consideration should be taken with our doors as well.  Depending on how you will need to fold the door, the slope of the floor may pose some limitations.  For example if the door opens over an area higher than it sits in the closed position, a gap may be necessary.  There is no such thing as 2″ shower vinyl.  Plan accordingly.

What is your warranty?
If we mess up, we will fix it.  That is it.  We are not responsible for leaks for reasons outlined above. Review your order and drawings carefully before approving.  Inspect your order before you sign for it.  You can refuse delivery for damaged goods, but once you sign for it, you are responsible for it.
